Nurses Week 2024: Nurses Make the Difference

Each May nurses are recognized for their service and dedication to caring for others and improving the health of patients nationwide during National Nurses Week (May 6-12). Throughout the week, healthcare organizations celebrate their teams and their work is widely publicized through a variety of organizational and public channels.

For 2024, the American Nurses Association has selected the theme “Nurses Make the Difference” to honor the varying roles of nurses and their positive impact on our lives. Nurses make a difference as trusted advocates who ensure individuals, families, and communities receive quality patient care and services.

Nurses Week celebrates the effort, dedication, and sacrifice nurses make every day. Nurses are essential members of America’s healthcare workforce who provide care through every stage of life, working with patients at their most intimate and vulnerable moments. Nurses Week offers a chance to highlight and celebrate nurses for all they do. 

Milford Regional nurses make a difference to our patients and to the healthcare team every day. Milford Regional nurses are the heartbeat of Milford Regional’s Patient Care Services. They are on the frontline with patients and continue to step up with compassion, integrity and skill. The care and concern our nurses deliver, moment to moment, hour to hour and day to day serve as a tremendous source of inspiration to me. As I round and observe our nursing and care teams in action on the floors and outpatient services, there is no doubt our patients receive exceptional care thanks to our nurses’ hard work, care and attention.

This year, members of our nursing team from different specialties will share insight into their various roles. Please take time to listen as we share their insight throughout the week. We celebrate the countless and varied contributions of our nurses and the impact they have as professionals on patients, families and co-workers.

I offer my utmost appreciation to the women and men who comprise our nursing team at Milford Regional. Their work is appreciated and integral as we fulfill our mission of providing exceptional healthcare services to our community with dignity, compassion and respect.
